Micromax Canvas Turbo Blind Review- Our expectations and predictions

The much awaited Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 was launched a few days back with some beefed up hardware specifications according to the local market standards.

Now, you might be expecting me to give the Canvas Turbo our full review treatment but sadly we aren’t able to do so because we didn’t have access to the demo phone.

We are trying our level best to get the demo units from Micromax but some of you were restless bored to wait for that. So here is our initial take on the phone.

  • Great display
  • Lots of useful features
  • Full HD video recording

  • No expandable storage
  • Doesn’t have latest OS out-of-the-box

In this blind review, we will not focus our attention to the numbers in the brochure, instead we’ll let our experience guide you.

The Canvas Turbo is powered by the MT6589T chipset from MediaTek. This is the higher clocked version of the MT6589 which is found in most of the phones in the price segment of 10-20k INR.

It will run games like Temple Run Oz, Subway Surfers, Frontline Commando etc. with any lag but the same can’t said about Asphalt 8. It will also excel in multitasking and browsing as it is coupled with 2GB RAM.

It wouldn’t let you complain

The Micromax Canvas Turbo is made out of aluminium imparting it premium looks. This will help you flaunt your new phone to your friends. The back side is inspired from iphone 5.

It is the first time that Micromax is gracing any of its phone with a 5 inch full HD IPS display. The displays shows natural colours and has excellent viewing angles. Watching movies on this 441 ppi display should be a real treat.

Battery backup

It is equipped with a non-removable Li-Ion battery of 2000mAh capacity. According to Micromax it will give a talk time of 7 hours before it gets completely drained.

This juice is more than sufficient to last you a day on normal usage.

Special Features

It also supports a couple of extra features to justify its price tag and also compete with established international players.

  • Smart Gestures
  • Blow to unlock
  • Popup Video & Popup Browser
  • Multi-video view
  • iFloat

What we think

Great value for money

The Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 is one of the best smartphones in the price segment of 15-20k INR. The full HD display and a quad-core processor with 2GB RAM make it good for multi-tasking. The aluminium body design makes it stand out from other local braded phones.

Other worthy alternatives to Canvas Turbo are LG G Pro Lite, Samsung Galaxy Grand and Panasonic P51.

Why not a full-blooded review of the Canvas Turbo? It’s a great phone in that price segment with features and option. You do full reviews of other phones, then why not this one? I am more interested in a full review; would you please do a full review?

    • Anand Karwa says:

      Hi Amol,
We would be happy to give the Canvas Turbo a full review treatment but we cannot source its demo unit. We contacted Micromax but they are also not providing us with the demo units for doing an in-depth review.
If you want us to do the review then you can get in touch with Micromax and request them to give a demo unit for a few days to us.
