Transcend, a global leader in the manufacture of storage products, has added a new series in their catalog. The Taiwan manufacturer has released industrial-grade SuperMLC UHS-I Speed Class 1 (U1) microSD cards.
The SuperMLC technology lies between SLC NAND & MLC NAND flash. It gives as cost effective solution without compromising on the performance to SLC NAND. Their most important features are- high performance, wide temperature tolerance (-40°C to 85°C), better endurance and affordable pricing.
These SD cards have a variety of industrial applications like medical devices, POS terminals, surveillance systems, etc.
The company claims that the sequential write speed of the SuperMLC SD card can reach up to 95MB/sec which is twice faster than the MLC NAND chips.
These cards are available in 4 variants sorted according to their capacities-
Transcend provides a 2-year Warranty with these products.
The temperature tolerance of these Transcend SuperMLC microSD cards lie between the -40°C and 85°C. The cards are fault-tolerant and gives better endurance, delivering up to 30,000 times of P/E cycles which is 10 times more durable than MLC NAND flash.
The Error Correcting Code (ECC) and S.M.A.R.T. function ensure reliable data transfer and self-monitoring capability.
