Canvas Power runs on a MediaTek MT6582M chipset. It is a quad-core solution having its each core running on 1.3 GHz each. The Mali 400 MP2 GPU is there to take care of gaming needs. It is supplemented by 512 MB of RAM for good multi-tasking.
The CPU is powerful enough to run high end games but the limited amount of RAM bottlenecks its overall performance.
You can play games like Temple Run, Subway Surfers, Plant vs Zombies 2 without any lags though.
The Canvas Power A96 has a 5MP camera at the back for capturing your memories. An LED flash is also present to take shots in no/low light conditions.
The absence of AF hurts and renders the camera useless for capturing fine details of distant/close objects.
It is however capable of recording HD (720p) videos. We cannot comment on the image and video quality before having an actual hands-on experience with the device.
The front VGA camera is there to make video calling possible. I wouldn’t recommend taking selfies on such a camera but it’s your call.
The Canvas Power A96 sports a 5 inch TFT LCD display having a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The pixel density of limited 195.93 ppi which is not good by any standards. But looking at the price tag and other features of the phone cost cutting at some feature is nothing but inevitable.
The display is far from gorgeous due to heavy cost cuttings
You wouldn’t feel that it is a poor display as long as you are busy with reading text and instant messaging.
