Being a 5.5 inch giant, Xolo Q2000 faces a strong competition from Karbonn Titanium S9 (Review) and LG G Pro Lite. The price mark below Rs. 15,000 could be a major advantage amongst all the competitors. Read out the complete Xolo Q2000 review to know if the device stands out of the crowd.

Pros and Cons
What does the Retail Package come with?
- The Handset & 2600mAh Li-Ion battery.
- USB Cable, USB charger, Headphones.
- Warranty Card & Quick Start Guide.
- Flip Cover, OTG cable.
Camera:
Xolo Q2000 sports a 13MP rear camera with 4x zoom, Auto-focus & LED flash. The camera has good colour representation & sharpness at the focussed point.
The camera has a very good looking rectangular long bezel around it. This bezel is fixed with the back panel. Unfortunately, they have changed the bezel in the flip cover given inside the box (see Design section- page 2).
Camera UI is similar to other local devices. It misses the zoom slider & the pinch to zoom was cumbersome. The picture quality remains good upto 2x zoom; beyond that you won’t get many details of the objects.
The tap to focus works perfectly. The exposure is adjusted according to the object where you have focused. HDR mode shot some good images with the Sun on the screen. (Check the samples below)
The camera hates Low-light.
Low-light photography with the 13MP shooter resulted in a very poor experience. The images of the distant objects misses out on fine detail due to high amount of noise.
Xolo Q2000 misses the macro mode but it can shoot sharp images upto 6-7cms.
The panorama mode is standard & the stitching is done well.
The front has a 2MP camera with 4x zoom (even though 4x is of no use for front cam).

Audio-
The audio levels of Q2000 did not satisfy me. The sound quality was good but it was the maximum volume which left me disappointed. I miss those XpressMusic & Walkman devices.
Speakers are placed at the bottom back side of the phone so you will encounter occlusion of the speakers when the device is kept on your sofa or bed.
If you are a music lover & wish to listen music or watch videos without headphones, then skip the desire to buy this phone.
Formats supported:
- mp3- Yes
- aac- Yes
- wma- No
Video-
The default video player in Q2000 is a standard Android Player. It pauses the video if you tap anywhere on the screen when the player layout is visible. Sometimes this becomes irritating while seeking the video.
Formats supported (480p):
|
Resolution Supported (mp4):
|
Xolo Q2000 couldn’t play 4K video in default player. Using the SW decoder mode in MX Player, we could atleast see the 4K video along with miss-matched audio.
Gallery-
No sorting feature or pinch to zoom is available. You can only change views to Grid & Filmstrip.
Notification & Ringtone-
No LED indicator.

User Experience
i. Design: Something Different
First Impression: Large, Rectangular & Slim.
Xolo Q2000 has a very different design than the recent Q-series devices. It has edgy corners with a dark shiny bezel running all around the sides.
Back Panel: Matte Finish, Thin, with Camera bezel.
The back panel texture remains the same- matte finish; but this time it is much more flimsy than the previous devices.
The front of the phone looks pitch dark when the screen is off. The back has a good looking rectangular bezel around the camera & the speakers are located at the lower side.
The hardware buttons are not handy as you’ll have to stretch your finger to reach out the volume up button. The phone weighs 180grams which will make your pockets bulkier.
ii. User Interface: Stock
Q2000 comes with Android 4.2.1 out of the box. It has no customized UI which find in every device of Sony, Samsung, LG, etc.
The UI is smooth to operate even while multi-tasking with some apps and games. There are not many animations & transitions effects that Xolo has worked upon.
iii. Display
Q2000 has a 5.5 inches IPS display similar to my previous reviewed Karbonn Titanium S9. The display is very sharp & it is not saturated with colours.
Single-handed Reach: Impossible.
With auto-brightness feature available handy, you will not face problems with bright outdoors.
iv. Typing:
Single-handed: Portrait mode typing is very good due to sufficient width of the device. There is no Swipe feature out of the box.
Dual-handed: Landscape mode typing is as good as typing on a tablet-pc.
I really liked the Auto-correction feature in the texting part. If you are used to typing long sentences & paragraphs in English, then this feature is utmost necessary.
v. Browsing:
Browsing on the large 5.5” IPS screen is great.
Features available: Multi-tabs, pinch to zoom, Incognito mode.
Pre-installed Browsers: Android Browser.

Pre-installed Apps & Games
We tested the device with Temple Run Oz & Subway Surfer. There were no lags in the games. The touch response worked very well.
Useful Apps: Backup & Restore, Facebook, Note Book, Xolo Power.
Extra Apps: Movie Studio, Xolo Care, Xolo Secure, Wireless Input Device.
Games: No default games installed.
Connectivity options
- 2G, 3G
- Bluetooth
- Wi-Fi with hotspot & Direct
- GPS
- USB 2.0 with OTG cable
- FM Radio
- 4G
- HDMI
- NFC
.
Battery:
Xolo Q2000 has a 2600mAh Li-Po battery instead of the Li-Ion battery of similar capacity in the Titanium S9. Unfortunately, we could not test the battery of the device.
The back panel got slightly heated up while watching videos & using camera. Rest of the time, Q2000 kept cool. Xolo provides Xolo Power app which is useful for battery optimization.
.
Final Verdict
Caution!!Buy this device with some caution in mind (so that you don’t regret later). Xolo Q2000 has a good design with a large IPS display. But it misses on the Camera quality as expected from a 13MP shooter.
The audio quality is again a disappointment. Ofcourse, the price point below Rs. 15,000 makes this phone one of the cheapest phablets available in the market. If the camera & speaker quality is accepted by you then you should BUY this phone.
